Oily fish widespread in the Mediterranean and rich in Omega 3 (and therefore highly recommended to those who have cholesterol problems). In the portion of the sea named the Gulf of Catania, in part protected by the Cyclops Islands Marine Reserve, you can catch the small, darting anchovies which are called "masculini" and that are protected by a Slow Food Presidium. Their capture is done with an ancient technique, practiced all over the Mediterranean Sea: are let down your nets menaidi, about 300 meters long and one centimeter wide mesh.
